Virtium

Virtium is an American technology company headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Since its founding in 1997, the company has established itself as a trusted supplier of industrial memory and storage solutions, tailored for demanding environments in sectors such as defense, telecommunications, transportation, and embedded industrial systems.

Virtium’s product portfolio includes rugged SSDs and DRAM modules designed to operate reliably under extreme temperatures and high-stress conditions. Its SSD series, such as StorFly and TuffDrive, are available in form factors including M.2, mSATA, and 2.5" SATA, offering options like self-encrypting drives (AES-256) and support for industrial temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C. The memory modules span from DDR3 to DDR5 and are available in low-profile versions for space-constrained applications.

In 2024, Virtium acquired the Swedish company Embedded Artists, a specialist in system-on-module (SOM) technology, AI accelerators, and wireless connectivity solutions. This strategic acquisition strengthens Virtium’s offering in edge computing, artificial intelligence, and high-performance industrial computing.
